Are you ready to be swept away by gaming nostalgia? We certainly hope so, as Japanese developer and publisher Capcom announced at this year’s E3 convention that it will be releasing a range of old school titles for the Nintendo Virtual Console, specifically the Wii U and 3DS.

While no official release date has been announced, Capcom aims to have those titles in question available by the end of this year. The Virtual Console is essentially Nintendo’s answer to digital downloads, and allows gamers to use the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo eShop to download games and other software to their console.

So what games can you expect to see for release? According to Game Informer, the list of confirmed titles scheduled for release in North America are as follows:

Breath of Fire (Wii U)
Demon’s Crest (Wii U)
Gargoyle’s Quest II (3DS, Wii U)
Mega Man 5 (Wii U)
Mega Man 6 (Wii U)
Mega Man 7 (Wii U)
Mega Man X3 (Wii U)
Mega Man Zero (Wii U)
Mega Man Battle Network (Wii U)
Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge (Wii U)
Mighty Final Fight (3DS, Wii U)
Street Fighter 2010 (3DS, Wii U)

In addition to this, Capcom has also announced plans for more games to join the catalogue, such as Mega Man Zero 2 and Mega Man Battle Networks 2. This list alone will prove popular as many of these games are sure to bring back fond memories for fans who grew up playing the originals on classic consoles, such as the SNES.

With the new generation console epoch in full swing, this is a chance for gamers to rekindle a little lost youth on those bygone titles that made video games so special.
