Update: As promised, Valve has debuted a new update for Team Fortress 2. Entitled Love and War, the expansion comes bundled with seven new achievements along with additional in-game expressions — including the Conga, Square Dance and, in typical TF2 fashion, the Skull Cracker. In tandem with the announcement, Valve also unveiled this short film for the game, which was made alongside Source Filmmaker.

This morning, Valve, the creators of the influential Half-Life series – as well as the digital distribution software Steam – have unveiled a cryptic teaser on their Team Fortress 2 website.
It features a large television screen tuned to an emergency channel and a countdown clock which will strike zero at 5 p.m. PDT/8 p.m. EDT. What happens after that is anyone’s guess. The URL of the site even contains the word “suspense,” just to keep us all on tenterhooks.
Already the internet is filling up with speculation as to what’s going to be revealed. Of course, most people are hopeful for Half-Life 3, but I can’t see that happening. Then again, this is Valve we’re talking about, so you never know. They’ve surprised us before and I wouldn’t put it past them to drop a bombshell like that on us tonight.
