As if Sleepy Hollow didn’t end its freshman season on a crazy enough note, season two is already looking to up the ante by introducing Ichabod Crane’s (Tom Mison) former flame – an ex-girlfriend that may not have all her marbles.

Turn star Heather Lind will appear as Mary Wells, Crane’s English ex straight out of the 18th century, who will reportedly start off as a likeable enough character before she turns the crazy meter up to full force. According to TV Line, Wells will quickly become “flighty, moody and prone to fits of extreme jealousy.”

Lind is scheduled to begin in her arc with episode 2-05, and will finish filming her guest star role before returning for season two of AMC’s hit series, Turn, as spy Anna Strong.

It’ll be interesting to see how the show pulls off adding yet another character from Crane’s past to the line-up. In the season one finale, fans were shocked by the revelation that Ichabod and Katrina’s (Katia Winter) son, Jeremy, was none other than Henry (John Noble), the sin eater. Although this realization came a little too late for Crane to brace himself for the retribution, there’s no doubt that season two will focus on him coming to terms with this reality. Perhaps he’ll even find a way to make it up to Jeremy, even though it hardly seems like any of this was Ichabod’s fault considering he was “dead” for almost three centuries and didn’t even know he had a son. But, since Henry/Jeremy isn’t concerned with semantics, neither are we.

Sleepy Hollow will resume haunting the Fox lineup on Monday, September 22 at 9:00 E.S.T.
