Untitled Witch Project Brewing Over At Disney With Tina Fey

Few comediennes currently have as much mass appeal and cultural influence as Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum Tina Fey, who has successfully made the jump to the big screen with films like Admission and Muppets Most Wanted. Every big studio out there wants to work with her in some way - Warner Bros. recruited her for this fall's This Is Where I Leave You, and Universal has booked her and gal pal Amy Poehler for next year's The Nest. Now Disney wants in and is apparently developing something currently known as Untitled Witch Project with Fey.

Few comediennes currently have as much mass appeal and cultural influence as Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum Tina Fey, who has successfully made the jump to the big screen with films like Admission and Muppets Most Wanted. Every big studio out there wants to work with her in some way – Warner Bros. recruited her for this fall’s This Is Where I Leave You, and Universal has booked her and gal pal Amy Poehler for next year’s The Nest. Now Disney wants in and is apparently developing something currently known as Untitled Witch Project with the actress.

Few details have been made available as of right now, but news of the project appears to have trickled out today in order to refute rumors that Fey is producing a sequel to Hocus Pocus. According to Deadline, that’s bunk – but Fey will be delving into the supernatural for this flick.

Untitled Witch Project has been described as being “in the vein of Ghostbusters,” though what that actually means is anyone’s guess. Tiny Fey will be producing the film alongside Allison Shearmur as well as starring in it. Her involvement indicates that this movie will have comedic overtones, but anything beyond that is purely speculation.
