Malin Akerman Will Join Tom Cruise In Rock Of Ages

Malin Akerman is the newest name to be added to Rock Of Ages. Deadline is reporting that Akerman is the last piece of the casting puzzle for Adam Shankman‘s film. She’ll play Constance, a journliast who is writing a piece on Tom Cruise‘s character. Akerman is taking over after both Amy Adams and Anne Hathaway dropped out due to scheduling issues (with Man Of Steel And The Dark Knight Rises).

She’ll join a cast that already includes (aside from Cruise) Bryan Cranston, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough. Pretty fantastic cast if you ask me. Don’t you think?

I haven’t seen the play that the film is based off of but I actually have tickets for it this weekend and I am looking forward to it, especially now that the film is fully cast. I wasn’t expecting so many big names to sign on when the film was first announced but I guess once Cruise joined it was enough to spark interest in other A list stars. Hopefully they’ll be able to deliver.
