Although the Xbox One may have managed to double its sales over the last month, the NPD Group is reporting that the PlayStation 4 was once again the best selling system in the month of June. Sony’s latest console has dominated the U.S. sales chart since the beginning of 2014.

Additionally, the NPD Group is reporting that all games featured in the top 10 sales chart for June sold better on the PS4 than the Xbox One. Although Microsoft is beginning to gain ground in the battle, it appears they still have a long way to go before taking over Sony in the United States.

While the battle between the PS4 and Xbox One dominates the headlines, Nintendo is also continuing to gain ground in the latest round of the console wars. Despite a slow start, the Nintendo Wii U is picking up the steam in the United States, as the console sold around 140,000 units in June, which represents a 233% increase over the previous year.

The Nintendo 3DS also continues to chug along, as the popular handheld console moved 150,000 units over the last month. While this number is down from the previous June, it’s still a 55% increase over the sales in May.

In software sales news, the big titles of May rose to the top in June, as Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 dominated the charts. While Ubisoft’s open world action title sold more copies across all platforms, Mario’s latest racer was the best selling individual SKU (stock keeping unit), as the title sold 470,000 copies last month. The full top 10 list can be seen below.

1. Watch Dogs (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)

2. Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)

3. Minecraft (360, PS3)

4. EA Sports UFC (PS4, XBO)

5. FIFA 14 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PSV)

6. NBA 2K14 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)

7. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)

8. Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC, Wii U)

9. Tomodachi Life (3DS)

10. Grand Theft Auto V (360, PS3)

The industry overall is up 24% percent over 2013, as the latest consoles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo continue to grow in sales. Despite hardware sales being up 106% from the previous year, though,  software sales were actually down 3% from June 2013. While this news may be a tad alarming, June 2013 did see the release of three big-name titles in The Last Of Us and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
