Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines (your small, bite-sized engines, that is) for Playrise Digital’s Table Top Racing is launching across PlayStation Vita today, August 5th in North America.

Priced at $7.99 (€5.99/£4.99) with discounts available for PlayStation Plus subscribers, the digital-only title originally launched for iOS devices in January of last year before it was ported for Android twelve months later. Taking inspiration from titles such as Micro Machines, the game puts players behind the wheel of a micro car tasked with manoeuvring around a variety of table-top locales.

Billed as the “definitive version,” Table Top Racing for PlayStation Vita takes full advantage of the handheld’s touch screen abilities — allowing players to glance in their rear view mirror using the back touch pad, for example — all the while adding local and online multiplayer. Visuals have also received an upgrade, and Playrise have stated that controls have been refined as well.

In terms of gameplay, the studio’s maiden title also includes a host of single-player events, with everything from bite-sized Drift Events and full-blown Championships all vying for your attention. Not only that, Table Top Racing also packs 17 vehicles that can be fully customized to suit your style of play — whether it’s the “Hot-Diggity-Dog” or the Bugatti Veyron-styled supercar, there’s something for everyone.

Table Top Racing is already available for PlayStation Vita owners in North America, with Playrise Digital poised to launch the game in Europe tomorrow, August 6th.
