Liam Neeson Will Run All Night In April 2015

When the Wachowskis' space epic Jupiter Ascending was taken off the summer calendar and slotted for next February, we had a feeling that the shift might mess up Warner Bros.' previously laid plans for early 2015. Now, the studio has officially announced what it's changing - the Liam Neeson actioner Run All Night has been moved from February 6th (when Jupiter will now open) to April 17th next year.

When the Wachowskis’ space epic Jupiter Ascending was taken off the summer calendar and slotted for next February, we had a feeling that the shift might mess up Warner Bros.’ previously laid plans for early 2015. Now, the studio has officially announced what it’s changing – the Liam Neeson actioner Run All Night has been moved from February 6th (when Jupiter will now open) to April 17th next year.

Even if effects work hadn’t caused Warner Bros. to delay Jupiter, it was possible Run All Night still would have ended up moving forward. After all, Fox is releasing Taken 3, also with Neeson, next January.

Run All Night will mark Neeson’s third collaboration with Unknown and Non-Stop director Jaume Collet-Serra. Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnace) penned the script, which centers on an aging hitman (Neeson) who is forced to go up against his brutal, sadistic former employer (Ed Harris) in order to protect his estranged son (RoboCop‘s Joel Kinnaman) and family.

Vincent D’Onofrio (Men in Black), Common (Now You See Me), Genesis Rodriguez (Hours) and Boyd Holbrook (Very Good Girls) all co-star in the thriller.

Though Run All Night‘s move gives Warner Bros. more than enough time to plan and mount a marketing campaign, the film will still have to stack up against some serious competitors. Also opening April 17th are Selfless, an anticipated Ryan Reynolds thriller from The Cell helmer Tarsem Singh; thriller Child 44, starring Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace; and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

With four big titles now scheduled for that date, it wouldn’t be surprising in the slightest if one or more moved out of it – otherwise, we might be in for a somber reminder of just how many people will happily give their money to Kevin James on a moped. (The answer is far too many.)
