Watch The Somber First Trailer For Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children

Jason Reitman clearly has something to say about our society's technology addiction. The concept of on-screen identities overtaking off-screen lives has been explored in films like Disconnect and Her, but that the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Up in the Air is the one shaping those ideas in this fall's Men, Women & Children is certainly cause for excitement.

Jason Reitman clearly has something to say about our society’s technology addiction. The concept of on-screen identities overtaking off-screen lives has been explored in films like Disconnect and Her, but that the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Up in the Air is the one shaping those ideas in this fall’s Men, Women & Children is certainly cause for excitement.

Today, the first trailer for the dramedy has arrived, revealing a serious and extremely modern take on technology overload. Though there isn’t much by way of plot (and no dialogue whatsoever), the preview is still an intriguing first look which highlights Reitman’s terrific cast.

Emma Thompson, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Kaitlyn Dever, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ansel Elgort, Dean Norris, J.K. Simmons, Dennis Haysbert and Elena Kampouris all star in Men, Women & Children, which is said to focus specifically on how relationships between parents and their children have been altered by technology.

Reitman co-wrote the script with Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary). Whether their work will be as well-received as Reitman’s on Up in the Air remains to be seen, but we don’t have too long to wait to find out. Men, Women & Children opens October 3rd and goes wide two weeks later.
