Earlier this month, we learned that DC Comics supervillain Girder would be making his way to the upcoming CW series The Flash. Now, thanks to Zap2It, we know who will play him and just when he’ll go toe to toe with the scarlet speedster.
Former Star-Crossed and The Secret Life of the American Teenager actor Greg Finley will appear as Girder in episodes six and seven of the upcoming season. His alter-ego, Tony Woodward, is a former childhood bully of Barry Allen’s, and is granted the power of changing his skin into “living metal” after the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explodes – the same accelerator that gives Barry (and a number of Central City citizens) metahuman powers.
There’s no word yet on whether or not Girder will be one of the Rogues, a team of Flash villains who join forces to take the hero down. Girder’s role may serve its purpose in two episodes alone, but if Finley is well-received, there’s a chance that he could team up with the likes of already-cast villains like Weather Wizard (Chad Rook), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Plastique (Kelly Frye) somewhere down the line.
