A post on the Nintendo UK Store has provided details on an upcoming batch of Mario Kart 8 DLC. According to the listing, Nintendo characters Link and the Animal Crossing Villager will be among the future additions to the popular racer.

The first of two upcoming packs, which is currently set to be released in November, will include Link, Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach. The pack will also include four new vehicles, including the Blue Falcon from F-Zero, and eight additional courses.

The second pack, which has a tentative release date of May 2015, will come packed with Dry Bowser, the Animal Crossing Villager and Isabelle, who also hails from Animal Crossing. Like the first pack, this set will also come with four additional vehicles and eight new courses.

Both add-on content packs will carry a cost of £7.00, which roughly translates to $11.00. Those who choose to purchase both packs, whether in a bundle or separately, will also receive 8 additional skins for both Yoshi and Shy Guy.

While I certainly enjoy a game of Mario Kart 8 every now and then, I’ve always been a F-Zero guy at heart. However, since Nintendo has no desire or plans to resurrect the future-set racer anytime soon, this DLC will have to do for now.

We will continue to update you on the latest Mario Kart 8 news when it becomes available.
