Taken 3

This Is Where It All Ends, Claims The French Teaser Poster For Taken 3

We'd like to believe that Taken 3 (or Tak3n as it's being marketed) will be the final outing for Bryan Mills. It's got to be. Surely he's due for a serious medical episode after all of his tiresome globetrotting, right? Even the star of the franchise, Liam Neeson, has repeatedly stated that it is most definitely, absolutely, THE last one. But, wait. Didn't he say that about the second one?

We’d like to believe that Taken 3 (or Tak3n as it’s being marketed) will be the final outing for Bryan Mills. It’s got to be. Surely he’s due for a serious medical episode after all of his tiresome globetrotting, right? Even the star of the franchise, Liam Neeson, has repeatedly stated that it is most definitely, absolutely, THE last one. But, wait. Didn’t he say that about the second one?

If the European marketing campaign is anything to go by, the studio are aiming for one last push to draw in audiences. This could mean this truly is the last time Neeson will charge around the planet with a gun, being a badass and rescuing helpless women. Well, the last time under the name Bryan Mills at least (see: Non-Stop).

The very first poster, for the French market, ensures us all that its the end of the road for the franchise. On the top of a hillside, overlooking a flood of spotlights aimed on an anonymous downtown, Neeson’s silhouette stands beneath a giant ‘3’.

What’s most indicative of the finality of the series is the French tagline – “c’est ici que tout s’achève.” This translates roughly to: this is where it all ends. And where is that exactly? With a few months to go until the movie opens, the official synopsis has yet to be unveiled. Neeson has hinted that this time Mills is targeted by his own government after being wrongly accused of homicide. This will no doubt find our hero on the run from the law. Back to assist in his mission are Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace, neither of whom will presumably be getting “taken.”

Check out the new poster below and let us know if you think this really is the end.

Taken 3 will hit theatres in the US January 9th, 2015 and in Europe on January 28th.
