Shia LaBeouf Physically Harmed Himself While Filming Fury

Shia LaBeouf is an enigma; he trashes Hollywood blockbusters he has a starring role in, often pulls head-scratching stunts like wearing a paper bag that says "I'm not famous anymore" over his head at the premiere of Nymphomaniac, and has seemingly gone off the deep end. It would take me all day to account for all of his recent shenanigans, so let's just get into his antics on the set of the upcoming World War II drama, Fury.

Shia LaBeouf is an enigma; he trashes Hollywood blockbusters he has a starring role in, often pulls head-scratching stunts like wearing a paper bag that says “I’m not famous anymore” over his head at the premiere of Nymphomaniac, and has seemingly gone off the deep end. It would take me all day to account for all of his recent shenanigans, so let’s just get into his antics on the set of the upcoming World War II drama, Fury.

In an interview with GQ, Logan Lerman discusses Shia LaBeouf cutting his own face on the set of the film, and going to a dentist to have some of his teeth removed. Apparently, Shia also got really good at operating a turret, to which I’m not sure if I should say “Awesome” or be terrified.

On Shia cutting himself, Lerman said the following:

“We were in make-up and they were putting cuts on Shia and I said, ‘Yeah, yeah, it looks good.’ And Shia was like, ‘No, it doesn’t look real.’ Then he walks out into the hallway and says, ‘Hey man, wanna see something fun? Check this out…’ and he takes out a knife and cuts his face. And for the whole movie he kept opening these cuts on his face. That’s all real.”

On Shia getting teeth pulled, he said:

“I mean, he didn’t do it himself, he did go to a dentist and asked them to pull his tooth out but yeah, what an odd request.”

On Shia learning to operate a turret, he stated:

“He really spent every moment on that set. He’s the guy operating the turret in every shot, even when you don’t need to be in there as an actor. You know, you can have somebody else inside. But he was there, for every shot.”

Is Shia LaBeouf insane, or just too dedicated to his craft? You can be the judge when Fury hits theaters on October 17th.
