Warner Bros.’ comedy-drama Our Brand Is Crisis has added two new stars to its line-up. The remake of the 2005 documentary continues to attract a wealth of talent, and today we’ve got news of its latest additions. Climbing aboard the political expose are Joaquim De Almeida (Fast Five) and Zoe Kazan (What If, Ruby Sparks).

Based on filmmaker Rachel Boynton’s documentary, the film will further explore what sounds to be a fascinating tale of political ideals gone awry. The story will be based around the exploits of two of President Clinton’s former political advisors, James Carville and Stan Greenberg, and their involvement in the re-election of a Bolivian president.

The casting announcements so far have addressed who’ll be playing a great deal of the main characters. Except, that is, for the Bolivian president himself. Thanks to The Wrap, we now know that role will be portrayed by De Almeida, who’s set to play “Castillo, the former president of Bolivia who’s running for president for the second time in 15 years. No friend to the poor working class, Castillo is cold, aloof and completely out of touch with the common man — but he’s also also suffering from dementia, which sometimes leaves him confused.”

Sounds like a juicy part for the actor, especially when you compare it to the brief description of Kazan’s character. She’ll be playing a journalist tasked with digging up dirt on campaigners, and after watching her spunky turn in Ruby Sparks, she seems like the perfect gal to tackle it!

Directed by David Gordon Green, Our Brand Is Crisis stars executive producer Sandra Bullock as retired political consultant “Calamity” Jane Bodine, alongside Billy Bob Thornton as her ruthless enemy. Scoot McNairy, Ann Dowd and Anthony Mackie round out the cast in as-yet unspecified roles. With production already underway, we’re excited to see who’ll be next to board what’s turning out to be a very intriguing ensemble indeed.
