For Tom Cruise, it seems nothing is impossible. The 52-year old star is currently filming Mission: Impossible 5 in the United Kingdom and recent set photos have emerged that show the renowned daredevil performing what is perhaps his most outrageous stunt to date: hanging onto an Airbus A400M from 5,000 feet.

Clearly not a fan of resting on his laurels — Ghost Protocol had the actor run down the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building (2717 ft) — Cruise has went one over for Christopher McQuarrie’s upcoming sequel and is seen strapped onto the door of the airborne aircraft in a fully tailored suit — very James Bond, if you ask us.

The ambitious, death-defying take was headed up by the film’s stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood, which saw the huge cargo plane circle the fields of Wittering at around 250mph. Talk about in-flight entertainment.

Mission: Impossible 5 is set to continue filming into the early stages of 2015, and sees the return of Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames. It’s understood the fifth instalment in the long-running franchise will also welcome newcomers Alex Baldwin, Simon McBurney and Rebecca Ferguson to the fray. Furthermore, we learned earlier this year that Prometheus star Sean Harris will play the film’s leading big bad.

Details are currently scarce on the ground (and in the air!) about Ethan Hunt’s next globe-trotting outing. What we do know though is that the anticipated release will make the fourth collaboration between McQuarrie and Cruise, following work on Jack Reacher and the former’s script duties on Valkyrie.

Mission: Impossible 5 will be released on December 25th, 2015. In the meantime, you can share your thoughts on Cruise’s latest insane move in the comments below.
