Nintendo Dates Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker For Europe, Gorgeous New Trailer Released

During yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation, The Big N confirmed the European release date for platforming spin-off, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, the Big N confirmed that its upcoming Super Mario 3D World spin-off, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, will release for Wii U on December 5th and January 2nd in North America and Europe, respectively.

In tandem with the announcement, Nintendo also revealed a new trailer for the platformer, which reveals that the game will boast no less than 70 stages. And while the gameplay is analogous to 3D World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will challenge players with novel puzzles as they explore the haunted mansions, temples and much more.

As the title suggests, the vibrant platformer follows the Mushroom Kingdom’s most beloved citizen as he ventures out on an adventure of his own. Taking full advantage of the Wii U’s GamePad, the title will encourage players to use the gyroscope features to manipulate different parts of the environment and, ultimately, reach that coveted gold star at the end of each level.

Much like Hyrule Warriors and Super Smash Bros. Wii U, Nintendo confirmed that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will support the company’s recently released NFC-powered Amiibo figurines, and it’s understood the first wave of mascots will be on the market before the game is released.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will debut first in North America on December 5th before becoming available to those in Europe on January 2nd. For those Wii U owners in Japan, Nintendo’s platforming spin-off will hit the market next week.
