Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that they have released another batch of free DLC for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The content will be available via a free update for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam.

The most notable addition coming with the Power of Defiance bundle is the Lithariel (the Warrior Commander of the Tribesmen of Nurn) character skin. While it’s disappointing to hear that she won’t have any different abilities from main protagonist, Talion, it’s still nice to have the option to choose between the two characters.

Also included with The Power of Defiance DLC will be the “Defiant to the End” Epic Rune, which grants players an additional Last Chance after being defeated in combat, and the “Test of Defiance” Challenge Mode, which tasks players with defeating Sauron’s Warchiefs without relying on Wraith power. Best of luck trying to accomplish that last task.

Despite recently launching on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, I’m surprised that this update for Shadow of Mordor isn’t coming to those platforms. Regardless, it’s nice to see Warner Bros. release some free updates for their popular game, even if they are still planning on releasing paid DLC in the near future.
