Arnie Is Back As The T-800 In Leaked Photo From Terminator: Genisys

When Paramount Pictures first lifted the curtain on its ambitious, don't-call-me-a-reboot Terminator Genisys, it's safe to say fans of the reputable sci-fi franchise were left feeling a little underwhelmed. Starring Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith and Jason Clarke, the images were as bland as they were unoriginal in pitting the resistance against the untamed Skynet, so we're happy to reveal that another, albeit unofficial still has surfaced online that depicts Arnold Schwarzengger himself as the T-800.

When Paramount Pictures first lifted the curtain on its ambitious, don’t-call-me-a-reboot Terminator: Genisys, it’s safe to say fans of the reputable sci-fi franchise were left feeling a little underwhelmed. Starring Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith and Jason Clarke, the images were as bland as they were unoriginal in pitting the resistance against the untamed Skynet, so we’re happy to reveal that another, albeit unofficial still has surfaced online that depicts Arnold Schwarzengger himself as the T-800.

The image comes by way of TheArnoldFans.com, who took a tour of the Paramount Pictures set recently and happened across an “unreleased promo poster” of Arnie as the weathered terminator. And while it’s not exactly an overly revealing image, it’s reassuring to see a familiar face back in the mix for Genisys, and one that will have a reason for his older complexion to put the boot to those continuity issues.

Terminator: Genisys will arrive in theaters on July 1st, 2015 and will hope to instigate a whole new trilogy of films under Paramount. For now, you can get an early glimpse of Arnold as the T-800 in the gallery below.

T-800

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.
