New Trailer For Horror Film The Pyramid Unearths An Egyptian Evil

Few man-made monuments evoke such ominous mystery as the Pyramids of Giza. As one of the wonders of the ancient world, the towering structures represent a masterclass of architectural design that was ahead of its time by some distance. Even to this day, the Egyptian constructs -- riddled with labyrinthine chambers and crawlspaces -- attract thousands if not millions of visitors every year.

In combining the hostile, sun-scorched environment with that omnipresent sense of mystery secrecy, it’s the perfect atmosphere within which to situate a horror film, and that’s exactly what 20th Century Fox has done with the release of The Pyramid.

Due to makes its bow in the beginning of December, the psychological horror follows a group of intrepid explorers who unearth an undiscovered pyramid that had been lost in time. And so, throwing common sense and caution to the wind, the archaeologists burrow deeper and deeper only to discover that they are been stalked in the darkness. The hunters become the hunted, essentially.

Ashley Hinshaw, Denis O’Hare and The Inbetweeners star James Buckley will lead the doomed expedition when The Pyramid debuts on December 5, 2014. Until then, check out the above trailer and let us know your own thoughts about the horror film in the comments.

Egypt’s ancient wonders have long cursed the intrepid explorers who’ve dared to uncover their secrets. But a team of U.S. archaeologists gets more than they bargained for when they unlock the horrific secrets buried in a pyramid unlike any the world has seen, and realize that they are not just trapped, but being hunted.
