Now that he’s achieved incredible success with Rust, and earned around thirty million dollars from Garry’s Mod, Garry Newman has turned his attention to earth’s history with his new game. Dubbed Before, it was publicly showcased during tonight’s 2014 Video Game Awards show.

Before is an aptly-named experience that will let gamers experience an interactive version of life before civilization. To achieve its goal, the game will present a barren world where both time and seasons change in (what looks to be realistic) fashion. The weather will be harsh, and it will be up to players to not only survive but also find ways to establish successful tribes.
