Al Pacino, the star of such classics as The Godfather and Scarface, has had a meeting with Marvel Studios about the possibility of a future role.

That’s according to the 74-year old actor himself, who revealed the intriguing tidbit in an interview with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast. Here’s what the Oscar-winning actor had to say on the matter.

“I’ve met with the Marvel guy [Kevin Feige]. It’s a Marvel how things happen. I would imagine either there’s something he feels is right for me, or…” which is when Pacino’s phone began to ring. “Every time we talk about Marvel, that’s what happens.”

Oh, Pacino, you tease. As a self-proclaimed fan of Guardians of the Galaxy, the revered actor is already an admirer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after describing James Gunn’s ensemble piece as “amazing, inventive, and beautiful.” High praise indeed from one of the most acclaimed stars in Hollywood.

So, does this mean Pacino’s involvement in the MCU is a done deal? Far from it. It’s long been known that Marvel Studios and boss Kevin Feige meet with a plethora of actors whilst deliberating over their casting choices, so it could well be that Pacino is merely in the mix for a role in one of the studio’s future films.

But given the possibilities on the cards — Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and Inhumans to name but a few — it could well be that superhero fans will see Pacino star in one or more of these films when they roar onto the silver screen.

Alas, it’s all conjecture at this stage and for all we know Pacino’s tease may have been blown out of proportion. Still, what is the Internet for if not for speculation? So, dear readers, what do you think about the actor’s hint? Do you foresee Pacino having a role in Marvel‘s universe at some point in the future?
