Developer Ronimo Games has officially revealed its latest creation: Awesomenauts. Taking the form of a Super Smash Bros. style arcade brawler, the game draws its inspiration from ‘eighties cartoon series.’ Colourful and cel-shaded visuals round out the production, adding some character and creativity to the world.

The game will be coming to XBLA and PSN, and is set to appear at next month’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Ronimo’s debut effort, Swords & Soldiers, was released last year for PSN, Steam and WiiWare. It’s a side-scrolling real-time strategy experience. The game received pretty positive reviews and hopefully the studio’s follow up will be just as good.
