In a year that’s brimming with big-name blockbuster sequels and high-profile superhero spinoffs, 2015 promises great things for movie fans. However, not every upcoming movie is a reboot, remake, or sequel. One of the most anticipated titles on the cinematic calendar comes from the maestro of genre, Guillermo Del Toro, whose haunted house horror Crimson Peak is set to arrive in the fall.

This year’s Comic-Con saw the director take to the stage to present those lucky attendees with a sneak peek at some early footage. The crowd went wild for a brief glimpse into the spooky mansion at the heart of the tale, and now the rest of the world can do the same with a first look at one of the movie’s leading ladies.

In the pic, (seen below) Jessica Chastain stands at the bottom of an elaborate staircase, decked out in full period garb. The floor-length crushed velvet dress sets the tone for the film’s gothic mood that Del Toro has referred to in the past.

Co-starring Charlie Hunnam, Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston, the film tells the story of an author who retreats to a secluded house while deliberating over the affections of two suitors. With Crimson Peak set to reveal the extent of its horrors on October 16th, 2015, we’ll hopefully see a teaser trailer drop in the near future.

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, del Toro and Callum Greene produce, and Jillian Share executive produces.
