Christmas came early for Marvel fans (and indeed Cumberbatch fans) late last night when director Scott Derrickson took to Twitter to offer fans their first glimpse of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

In what appears to be an unofficial illustration, the Tweet quoted Talking Heads song “Burning Down the House” with the line “Strange but not a stranger,” and sees the character superimposed against a galactic backdrop — quite apt, really, given the Sorcerer Supreme’s involvement in the studio’s Phase Three. It’s not an awful lot to go on, mind you, and it’s still unclear if this is official concept art from Marvel or just a damn good mock-up submitted by a fan, but it’s a testimony to the quality of the artwork that it caught the eye of Derrickson himself.

Doctor Strange will play an instrumental part in Marvel’s Phase Three when Scott Derrickson’s vision of the Sorcerer Supreme arrives in theaters on November 4, 2016. For now, you can check out that illustration along with a brief synopsis of the film down below.

Benedict Cumberbatch will star in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange,” scheduled to hit theaters November 4, 2016. The film, directed by Scott Derrickson with Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay, will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
