Avengers: Age of Ultron star Jeremy Renner has kicked up quite the fuss after the actor posted about donning the Hawkeye guise this week for reasons unknown — or, rather, for ones he can’t tell us just yet.

Taking to his personal whosay page, Renner revealed that he was once again stepping into the costume of the sharpshooter, and posted the following caption:

“Tues morn. I find myself in costume again. I just can’t tell you why. And it still fits! #marvel #avengers #hawkeye”

Cue the speculation. Many have since gone on to deduce that the covert op is prepping for a cameo role in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. given that he is, you know, an agent and all. But it’s worth keeping in mind that the studio announced some time ago that Joss Whedon’s upcoming superhero sequel would enter reshoots in January, so it seems more likely that Renner is alluding to these revised scenes rather than an out-and-out cameo.

Nevertheless, we’ll keep you updated with any further updates that Jeremy Renner feels the need to share. For now, check out the sketch of Hawkeye himself that accompanied the aforementioned, nebulous caption.

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on May 1, 2015.
