Can you believe that World Of Warcraft has been going for a decade?! Launched in North America and Australia in November 2004 and then in Europe in February 2005, it has remained at the top of the MMORPG food chain ever since, sucking up millions of gamer’s lives.

If you’re one of the gazillions of people who have been subscribed since the beginning, all that grinding is about to pay off, as Blizzard have announced on the European Battle.net forum that they will be rewarding decade-long fans with a special one-off gift. What this gift will be has yet to be announced, but the message reads loud and clear:

We’ve been secretly working on creating a one-time gift to celebrate the WOW Anniversary, and it’s now on its way to players that have been with us since the beginning. Emails have been sent out to our European players who meet the criteria to receive an Anniversary celebration gift. Shipment of the gift to EU players will begin in the next few weeks.

So keep an eye out on your inbox if you’ve have been playing World Of Warcraft for the last ten years. In order to receive your free gift, you need to have been subscribed within 60 days of the game being launched.

Does this mean you have to have been paying every month since without missing a single payment? And how about game time? Does someone who plays four hours a week differ from someone who plays fours a day? It’s hard to say at this stage, but we’ll definitely keep you posted when we hear more.

Until then, let us know in the comments how long you’ve been playing World Of Warcraft. Don’t be embarrassed!
