Miles Teller may have been lambasted throughout the course of Whiplash for being slightly off tempo, as J.K. Simmons’ unrelenting tutor circled his budding drummer like a shark circling a baby seal, but in Hollywood circles, the actor couldn’t be more in tune.

With a leading role in Fox’s forthcoming Fantastic Four reboot, not to mention his physically demanding part in Bleed For This, 2015 is already shaping up to be a phenomenal year for the 27-year old. And today, Deadline has learned that Teller has added another feather to his crowded cap in the form of Warner Bros.’ Arms and the Dudes.

Drawing upon Guy Lawson’s Rolling Stone article, the thriller will see Teller star opposite two-time Oscar nominee Jonah Hill as two bumbling arms dealer who happen across a high-profile contract deal worth $300 million, one which sees the pair help supply weapons to US allies within Afghanistan. It’s not long before the two find themselves in hot water, though, as trouble kicks off in the arid country.

Scott Budnick, Mark Gordon, and Bryan Zuriff are on board to produce the thriller, which is to be directed by Todd Phillips of The Hangover fame.

Before Warner Bros. secured Hill for the gig, Arms and the Dudes was ready to push ahead with Shia LaBeouf and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jesse Eisenberg, but production soon ground to halt due to scheduling conflicts. Alas, it isn’t too surprising that Warner Bros. moved to protect the latter actor, who will in all likelihood appear in more than one of DC’s upcoming superhero flicks.

Arms and the Dude is yet to be dated, but for now, you can share your thoughts on Teller’s casting via the comments section below.
