Welcome To Me is directed by Shira Piven and written by Eliot Laurence. It follows Wiig’s borderline personality sufferer, Alice Klieg, who wins the lottery. Bypassing typical human desires when faced with the onset of mass wealth, Alice buys her own talk show. As her medical condition persists, the nature of her show sees her becoming something of a cult celebrity, whose show slowly rises in the TV rankings.

After having seen that preliminary leaked trailer – which may have been intended for industry usage and not public eyes – this latest version differs in tone. Whereas the first one showcased levity and humor, we’re now greeted by a new angle on the material that’s a shade darker than before. Overall, it looks like another strong vehicle for Wiig and we’re definitely excited to check it out.

Co-starring Wes Bentley, Linda Cardellini, Joan Cusack, Loretta Devine, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Thomas Mann, James Marsden, Tim Robbins, and Alan Tudyk, Welcome To Me will open in theaters on May 1.

What happens when a young woman with Borderline Personality Disorder wins the lottery? In the case of Alice Klieg (Kristen Wiig), she quits her psychiatric meds and buys her own talk show. Inspired by the immortal Oprah, she broadcasts her dirty laundry as both a form of exhibitionism and a platform to share her peculiar views on everything from nutrition to relationships to neutering pets. Also starring Wes Bentley, James Marsden, Tim Robbins, Joan Cusack, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Linda Cardellini.
