Octodad, Don’t Starve Topline Wealth Of Indies Headed To Wii U

Much digital ink has been spilt about the misfortunes of the Wii U, with the Internet at large picking apart Nintendo’s struggling console piece by piece. But despite the fact that sales figures continue to paint a dire situation, The Big N has confirmed that a flurry of indie titles — including Don’t Starve, Octodad: Dadliest Catch and Never Alone — will make their way to the company’s flagship home console throughout the course of the year.

Though the a significant chunk of the listed software has been released on other platforms, it’s understood that certain ports will boast console-specific features. Puzzle platformer Never Alone, for instance, will support off-TV play, allowing players to explore the finer details of Upper One Games’ snowy landscapes.

Indeed, Nintendo isn’t leaving its 3DS handheld out in the cold, either, noting that a selection of indie titles are on course for a digital release on the eShop storefront over the coming weeks and months.
