First Look At Bryan Cranston And Diane Kruger In The Infiltrator

Production on true story thriller The Infiltrator kicked off in London this week, and to celebrate the beginning of lensing, Good Films has dropped the first still from the movie. This first image showcases its two leads: Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, who stars as an undercover agent, and Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger. A straightforward snap from the set, it reveals little about the movie, aside from the pair's boisterous fashion choices.

Production on true story thriller The Infiltrator kicked off in London this week, and to celebrate the beginning of lensing, Good Films has dropped the first still from the movie. This first image showcases its two leads: Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston, who stars as an undercover agent, and Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger. A straightforward snap from the set, it reveals little about the movie, aside from the pair’s boisterous fashion choices.

Based in part on the true story of fearless federal agent Robert Mazur (Cranston), The Infiltrator follows his experiences during the 1980s. In the daytime, Mazur kept up his Customs and Excise job, before switching to his duty as an undercover DEA agent at night. He became a key player in several international drug cartels as his cover remained securely in place for many years, enabling him to bring down infamous kingpin Pablo Escobar.

Bringing gravitas to a wide range of supporting roles, Benjamin Bratt, Amy Ryan, John Leguizamo, Olympia Dukakis, Elena Anaya and Juliet Aubrey all joined the project in the last week. Little is known about the specifics of their involvement though, with the exception of Bratt, who plays Roberto Alcanio, Mazur’s contact who dealt directly with cartel board members.

Taking a stint in the director’s chair for the drug caper is Cranston’s The Lincoln Lawyer helmer Brad Furman. He will work from a script penned by Ellen Brown Furman, which was itself adapted from Mazur’s non-fiction novel The Infiltrator: My Secret Life Inside the Dirty Banks Behind Pablo Escobar’s Medellin Cartel.

Once location shooting in London wraps production, The Infiltrator will up sticks for the sunnier climes of Florida, where it’s expected to complete principal photography.
