Between the recent release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and the upcoming Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix already has a pretty packed schedule. However, according to company president Yosuke Matsuda, the company still has plenty of projects in the pipeline.

Speaking to Nikkei, Matsuda revealed that Square Enix is set to bring multiple projects to current-gen consoles during the course of 2015.

At the moment, we have major titles such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we’ve already announced Final Fantasy XV, we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year. I can’t say much for now, but it’s a JRPG for consoles.

Besides the upcoming RPGs, we also know that Square Enix’s future portfolio includes the likes of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 2. So we do have knowledge of some of the projects that Matsuda is referencing during this interview.

As for the unannounced titles, Matsuda is confident that Square Enix will make their presence known at both E3 and this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

Of course, we’ll have plenty to show off at Tokyo Game Show. In addition, this year we’ll release titles for arcades and PC as well. We’re especially putting effort into PC online games, and we’re thinking about developments for consoles, too.

I guess this would be the time where we wildly speculate about what projects could potentially be in development. I’m expecting at least one new IP, and perhaps another HD remaster. Since we are already getting Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, why not remaster the under-appreciated Final Fantasy XII?
