Journalists just can’t seem to stay away from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, as several major casting developments have been revealed over the last few weeks. In addition to recent Squad recruits like Scott Eastwood as Steve Trevor, Raymond Olubowale as King Shark, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, rumors are now swirling that newcomer Karen Fukuhara has landed a minor role as Plastique.

Fukuhara’s name first came up when TheWrap reported Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s casting, and now Latino-Review’s El Mayimbe is saying that she could in fact be playing Firestorm villain Plastique. The explosion-projecting femme fatale, who showed up on The Flash late last year, isn’t expected to have a large part in the film, but will reportedly be an actual member of the Squad and show up in a nightclub scene. Perhaps she’s one of the unlucky villains who disobeys Amanda Waller’s orders and swiftly gets her head blown off?

With Suicide Squad entering into the final stages of pre-production before cameras start rolling in Toronto next month, expect to hear plenty more rumors and speculation – as well as some last minute casting additions – in the coming weeks.

Suicide Squad is slated to hit theaters on August 5th, 2016. Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Jay Hernandez, Viola Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jared Leto co-star.
