The wheels are in motion on Tim Miller’s long-awaited Deadpool feature with production in full swing as of this week. After a drawn-out development period which spanned several years, the quippy mercenary is back for a reinvented origin tale. Next February, fans who mourned the slipshod treatment of the beloved character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine will be able to feast their eyes on a truly loyal representation of the Merc With A Mouth. However, as we live in an age replete with Insta-web technology, the first sight of Deadpool and his comrades in action has arrived today in a series of set photos.

This morning, we brought you a trio of snaps revealing Ryan Reynolds in the titular role, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, and Gina Carano as Angel Dust. Judging by the prosthetics-clad Reynolds, the shoot is unspooling in chronological order by lensing events that take place before Wade Wilson transforms into the souped-up Deadpool.

In a follow-up batch of images, we’ve now been granted a glimpse at T.J. Miller as Wilson’s loyal sidekick, Weasel. An arms dealer with a heart of gold, he can be spotted chatting up a stripper outside a club. It’s likely that this is where Baccarin’s Copycat turns to whip up some cash, as a new pic of her has also surfaced in a bulky coat… suggesting that she’s scantily-clad. Take a peek at all of the snaps in the gallery below and fire off your thoughts in the comments!

Rolling into theaters with an R-rating, Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, and Ed Skrein, and will arrive in theaters on February 12, 2016.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
