Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman Costume And Justice League Script

Aside from the household-name headliners populating Warner Bros.' Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, there's a few lesser-known characters scheduled to appear. One of those plucked from the DC comics back catalogue is fan favorite Aquaman, who's set to be played onscreen by Game Of Thrones' Jason Momoa. Set to first appear next spring in BvS, and then in 2018 for his solo outing, Momoa is also contracted for the two-part Justice League movie. And now, thanks to a recent interview (via THR), we know that the movie doesn't yet have a script.

Aside from the household-name headliners populating Warner Bros.’ Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, there’s a few lesser-known characters scheduled to appear. One of those plucked from the DC comics back catalogue is fan favorite Aquaman, who’s set to be played onscreen by Game Of Thrones‘ Jason Momoa. Set to first appear next spring in BvS, and then in 2018 for his solo outing, Momoa is also contracted for the two-part Justice League movie. And now, thanks to a recent interview (via THR), we know that the movie doesn’t yet have a script:

“Justice League is quite a ways off. We don’t have scripts and stuff like that. I’ll bring my professionalism there. I’ll bring my sense of humor. Hopefully people will like that. If they don’t I’ll modify it.”

With Justice League Part One not set to arrive until 2017, the existence of a fully-realized script isn’t likely, as the specific beats of the entire DC-verse first need to be established. In all probability there are outlines, treatments and detailed pitches for those later movies, but for now the focus is on next year’s superhero team-up.

Quick to praise his director Zack Snyder again for his creativity that charges the movie, Momoa goes on to reference costume designer Michael Wilkinson, who recently dropped a ton of details on the wardrobe designs for Batman and Superman.

“Michael [Wilkinson], the head costume designer, he created all of that. I basically just showed up and he made it happen. And It’s all Zack, through his genius mind. I’m going to be in one of the biggest movies in history in a minute, playing a superhero. And I have kids so that’s cool. My kids can finally see something that I’m in.”

As well as Momoa’s brood, the rest of the world will also be able to catch the actor in costume next year when Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice opens on March 25, 2016. The Aquaman solo movie will follow on July 27, 2018.
