The dust has barely settled since the arrival of the film’s first clip, but Universal has already unveiled a new still for Jurassic World that sees Chris Pratt and the boys – namely Nick Robinson and Iron Man 3‘s Ty Simpkins – cowering from something nasty.

It’s an effective shot, too, having them seek temporary shelter in the island’s gift shop. After all, Colin Trevorrow’s reboot-cum-sequel will take place in a time where the park has been open and functioning for some time, and the idea of marauding dinosaurs acting as tourist attractions has all become a little humdrum. In fact, the director cites an image of a teenager checking his phone beside the T-Rex enclosure as inspiration for Jurassic World‘s tone.

Such apathy leads the park’s leading biologists to engineer something entirely new and fresh; a genetically-modified dino that is as unprecedented as it is terrifying. It isn’t long before the concept of playing God becomes warped, though, with the man-made hybrid breaking free of captivity and causing a trial of destruction throughout the entire island. Enter Star Lord.

Chris Pratt will lead the charge against the Indominus Rex – with some velociraptors in tow too – when Jurassic World lands in theaters on June 12. The Guardians of the Galaxy star will be joined by Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.
