Project X Zone 2 Coming To 3DS This Fall

The 3DS family of handhelds will be receiving a follow-up to the 2013 crossover title Project X Zone, as Bandai Namco has confirmed that a direct sequel will launch worldwide this fall.

Project X Zone 2 will follow in its predecessor’s footsteps in many ways. For one, it looks to preserve the strategy RPG-style gameplay and 2D sprites of the original. Additionally, Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft will develop the game and it will feature appearances from numerous Bandai Namco, Capcom, and Sega characters. Returning characters include protagonists from the Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Mega Man X series, with newcomers from games like Yakuza and Strider.

More characters will be announced in the near future, but for now, a debut trailer can be viewed above, along with some initial Japanese screenshots below.
