As the trailer reveals, this gang of long-time friends know how to cut loose and lure you into their carefree (well, to begin with) world. A catchy-as-hell soundtrack and tons of well-timed gags make this two-minute preview stand out, in addition to its central core performers who are all too aware of their predicament. Surrounding them, a cast of dimwitted supporting characters provide a wealth of the jokes. Overall, this looks to be a sleeper summer hit in the making. Check out the trailer above, and be sure to let us know what you make of it in the comments.

Directed by Rick Famuyiwa and co-starring Blake Anderson, Zoe Kravitz, A$AP Rocky, Chanel Iman, and Quincy Brown, Dope arrives on June 19.

A critical hit and audience favorite out of the Sundance Film Festival, in DOPE, Malcolm (Shameik Moore) is carefully surviving life in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles while juggling college applications, academic interviews, and the SAT. A chance invitation to an underground party leads him into an adventure that could allow him to go from being a geek, to being dope, to ultimately being himself.
