MTV has released an exclusive clip for the upcoming horror remake, Fright Night. The clip shows the two leads, Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin, face to face. It’s nothing too amazing, but it does hint at the somewhat odd tone the film appears to have. The clip is played out quite serious, but I couldn’t stop chuckling whenever Colin Farrell delivered a line. I’m not sure if that was the filmmakers intention, but I’m all for a horror/comedy mix.
After seeing the trailer and the clip for Fright Night I still can’t say that I am fully excited to see it. It certainly has potential to be a decent film, but I don’t see it going much farther than that. Who knows though? Colin Farrell has really been picking some interesting projects as of late and this could end up being another film that benefits from his talent. An August release date seems kind of odd though, this seems like perfect Halloween material.
Fright Night stars Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, David Tennant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Imogen Poots. It will be hitting theaters on August 19th, 2011.
