Sony had better look out—a hacker group named Lulzsec is out to get them. The group openly claims full credit for their hack on PBS as well as on Sony BMG Japan, and are now hinting through Twitter that an operation directed toward the downfall of Sony is being planned. Check out the two Tweets below.
“We’re working on another Sony operation. We’ve condensed all our excited tweets into this one: this is the beginning of the end for Sony.
Our #Sonage (Sony + ownage) is going at maximum speed, there’s a lot to do.”
The group admitted in another tweet to being distracted by their other hack on PBS, through which they posted lists of confidential information like passwords, usernames, and other administrative details gathered from the network. However, the battle with Sony is not over as the group recently Tweeted:
“Sony happens when Sony happens – we’re celebrating our victory right now. The fun will never stop!”
Despite these Tweets, Lulzsec is apparently not involved in the mid-April attack on the PlayStation Network, which has still not been solved yet. Still, their Tweets shouldn’t be disregarded. A lot of people are pretty angry with Sony right now and it seems as if Lulzsec is pretty serious in taking their anger out on the company. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out and if Sony can stop them.
