Stepping into the shoes of gun-toting badass B.J. Blazkowicz once more, players will be whisked back in time to 1946. On the verge of winning World War II, the Nazis are close to the peak of their totalitarian power, and it’s up to our war hero to throw a spanner in the works before it’s too late. Alongside the grizzled protagonist is Ally spy Agent One, and the pair must infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein in order to snatch the coordinates General Deathshead’s compound right from beneath the Nazi’s prying eyes. As a prequel to last year’s rather excellent The New Order, developer MachinesGames looks to have tapped much of the campy, zealous fun for The Old Blood, and we’re excited to see how the DLC pans out over the course of its eight chapters.

Priced at $19.99, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is available today across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more on Blazkowicz’s latest adventure, check out the detailed synopsis below.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a standalone prequel to the critically acclaimed first-person action-adventure shooter, Wolfenstein: The New Order. The adventure, which spans eight chapters and two interconnected stories, features the hallmarks of MachineGames – thrilling action, immersive story and intense first-person combat. As war hero B.J. Blazkowicz, arm yourself with new weapons such as the bolt-action rifle and grenade-launching Kampfpistole as you attempt to thwart the advancing Nazi war machine, and take advantage of duel-wielding pipes that can be used for wall climbing – or for vicious take-downs of never-before-seen Nazi adversaries.
