Electronic music trio NERO have released the official music video for “The Thrill,” and it’s got us even more excited for their new album.

“The Thrill” stood among the first handful of tracks released last month to drum up buzz for the group’s forthcoming album, and it’s safe to say it served its purpose; NERO has succeeded in updating their vocal-driven brand of dubstep and making it relevant to a trend-chasing generation of fans who largely look at the genre in their collective rearview mirror.

The video focuses predominantly on vocalist Alana Watson as she performs the song in a room littered in cables and lighting equipment. Bursts of light from spotlights framing her slender figure punctuate notes in the track’s anthemic synth lead, and flashes of her bandmates, Joe Ray and Daniel Stephens, accompany etherial silhouettes that form on either side of her. The video does a good job of letting the music speak for itself while providing accompanying imagery that compliments it without distracting.

Considering that the official release date for NERO‘s new album, Between II Worlds, is August 28th, the trio will likely release additional material in the coming months to keep fans interested. For now, though, tell us, what do you think of “The Thrill” and its accompanying video? Let us know in the comments section below.
