UPDATE: Microsoft has stated that this release date is incorrect due to some sort of delay.

According to listings spotted by eagle-eyed individuals on the official Xbox site, Halo 3: ODST will be releasing on May 29 for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

For those who may have forgotten, the HD update of the Halo 3 spinoff was born out of an apology from 343 Industries for the less-than-smooth launch of The Master Chief Collection last year. The game was plagued by numerous online functionality and matchmaking issues – a problem that took months to resolve.

For anyone who purchased and played The Master Chief Collection between launch day and December 19, ODST will be a free download, but details on availability outside of that offer are still scarce as Microsoft are still yet to comment on whether the game will be made available to people who don’t qualify for the free download. They have announced though that ODST will run in native 1080p and at 60 frames per second.
