When you put A-Trak, AraabMuzik and Ape Drums in a room together, you’re bound to wind up with some next-level beats. A-Trak’s musical prowess alone makes him a venerable beatsmith; the “#RealDJing” spokesman made a name for himself as one of Kanye West’s early collaborators and continues to deliver in performances and studio sessions alike.
“Action” combines his turntablist mindset with the bass music sensibilities of Aarabmuzik and Ape Drums, resulting in a grimy trap banger replete with swagger-infused 808s and barbaric syncopation. The drops hit hard, and a visceral vocal sample stimulates the cortexes just enough not to distract from their bone-rattling bass.
The three artists released the track to commemorate the start of their Gold Gone Wild tour, which consists of six US dates spanning from June 5th-June 20th.
