Bryan Singer Posts New Photo Of X-Men: Apocalypse’s Cerebro

Many directors who tackle big-budget franchise films try to retain as much secrecy about their productions as possible, but thankfully for X-Men fans, Bryan Singer isn't one of them. He's already posted a steady string of photos showing off the sets and other behind the scenes aspects of X-Men: Apocalypse, and he's now graced us with a great new look at the film's version of Cerebro.

Many directors who tackle big-budget franchise films try to retain as much secrecy about their productions as possible, but thankfully for X-Men fans, Bryan Singer isn’t one of them. He’s already posted a steady string of photos showing off the sets and other behind the scenes aspects of X-Men: Apocalypse, and he’s now graced us with a great new look at the film’s version of Cerebro.

Cerebro is Spanish for brain. #Xmen #XmenApocalypse

Singer had previously posted a few photos of Cerebro under construction, but this appears to be the first proper shot of the completed set. It doesn’t look drastically different from what we’ve seen in previous films, but it’s still too hard to tell what sort of details might have been tweaked to revamp the design.

While the angle of this picture doesn’t quite do the set justice, an earlier photo that Singer posted shows how absolutely massive Cerebro is. It’s fairly safe to assume that something awesome is going to happen on that set, especially considering how much of the movie is said to be focused on Professor X’s transformation, both physically and into the full-on mutant leader that he becomes.

For those who aren’t familiar, Cerebro is the machine that Charles Xavier (a.k.a. Professor X) uses to boost his telepathic ability. It was first used to detect and track mutants, but has since become dangerous when placed in the wrong hands, like in X2 when Magneto tried to kill non-mutants with it.

X-Men: Apocalypse premieres on May 27, 2016. The film stars  James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Ben Hardy as Angel, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Oscar Isaac as villain Apocalypse.
