In recent weeks, the stream of set photos emerging from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad have largely focused on the confrontation between Jared Leto’s The Joker and The Caped Crusader, but today’s behind-the-scenes images drag Task Force X back into the limelight.

Specifically, it’s Will Smith’s sharpshooter Deadshot who features heavily in the latest string of photos, showcasing the character in full guise – mask included – before performing some stuntwork. While low in quality, this is our first glimpse of Smith sporting the mercenary’s complete costume, and you can find the images in question through the gallery above.

In tandem with the screenshots, Scott Eastwood – whose role remains a mystery – has opened up about Jared Leto’s much-debated rendition of The Joker. Despite dividing DC advocates in a way marmite could only dream, Eastwood recently spoke to E! about the actor’s immersive performance, and how he finds it intimidating to approach Leto when the cameras are rolling. It’s a fascinating tidbit, no doubt, and if anything, it proves that the Oscar-winning performer is in no way taking his involvement in the film lightly.

Though the sheer amount of Suicide Squad photos on the Internet has been overwhelming in recent times, David Ayer has assured fans that the vast majority of secrets remain intact, as exterior filming is now all but completed. Good news, too, considering that the villain-centric feature is still more than a year away from its anticipated release.

Alongside Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith are Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Raymond Olubawale (King Shark) and model-cum-actress Cara Delevingne (The Enchantress).

Task Force X assembles for duty on August 7, 2016, when David Ayer will introduce DC’s Suicide Squad to the moviegoing masses. In the meantime, you can share your thoughts on Will Smith’s rendition of Deadshot and indeed Eastwood’s comments about Leto’s performance down below.
