International Poster For The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

It’s not going to hit theaters until Christmas time, but the buzz for David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is continuously growing. Saturday saw the release of a leaked red band trailer, which got the anticipators and the uncertain (like me) excited. Today, we have the first official green band trailer and thanks to the folks over at /Film, we now have the first international poster to drool over.

The poster features the two main stars, Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, in character form. Mara is naked from the waist up, covered in piercings and tattoos while Craig is behind her with his arm around her body. There’s a French tagline that roughly translates to “Evil will be driven by evil.”

It’s a rather provocative poster and it probably won’t make its way to the U.S. since American marketing isn’t quite as risqué as international marketing. It would be cool to see this as the official U.S. poster as well, but the likelihood of that happening is very slim, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Check out the poster below. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo opens in the U.S. on December 21, 2011.
