Mass Effect: Andromeda Will Take You To A New Galaxy In 2016

Mass Effect 4 is now Mass Effect: Andromeda, which got a new trailer, and a release date at EA's E3 press conference.

Kicking off EA’s 2015 press conference at E3 was a proper trailer and a new title for one of the company’s biggest franchises: Mass Effect. Keep your hand off the “4” key though, because Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the name of the next chapter in Bioware’s action-RPG series.

Set to Johnny Cash’s “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” the CG announcement trailer packs in all the exploration, action, and sci-fi trappings one expects of a new Mass Effect game, but with an added frontier spirit.

Mass Effect: Andromeda was teased at last year’s E3 as the next entry in the series, but the new title comes with the promise of a whole new galaxy. The franchise needed a new direction after the end of the Shepard trilogy, and it looks like the Milky Way’s closest neighbor will play host to some N7’s finest. What terrors and wonders await is hard to tell thus far, but it looks like we’ll be able to shoot and omni-tool-stab our way through them, same as before.

Check the above trailer to get a glimpse at what’s waiting beyond our galaxy and for fans when Mass Effect: Andromeda arrives Holiday 2016.
