Taking place across the icy hills of Hoth, the sizzle reel embedded above charts a battle between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, one inspired by the memorable and defining war from The Empire Strikes Back. Speaking of which, from John Williams’ indelible score to the AT-ATs, the sound of blasters ricocheting off armor or the whizzing effect of a passing TIE Fighter, Battlefront is shaping up to one of the most authentic Star Wars games ever created.

Powered by EA’s cutting-edge FrostBite game engine, the company touched upon some of the dynamic weather effects and volumetric lighting that is looking to set Battlefront apart from what has come before. Per EA:

In Star Wars Battlefront you can battle in epic 40 multiplayer battles reminiscent of The Battle of Hoth. As the Empire, you must accompany AT-AT walkers as they march towards the Rebel base to destroy it. And as a Rebel, you must do everything you can to stop them.

Star Wars Battlefront is currently slated for a release across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 17. Tell us, what do you make of the multiplayer debut of DICE’s shooter? Indeed, do you think the title can put early criticism to bed and prove that it’s much more than just a palette swap? Let us know in the comments.
