Yoshi’s Woolly World received a new trailer during the show, which featured Nintendo development coordinator Emi Watanabe talking about the inspiration and goals for the coming Wii U platformer.

Having worked on Kirby’s Epic Yan, Watanabe is no stranger to fabric-based Nintendo characters. Newly unveiled Amiibo support will let you style your Yoshi after familiar faces like Mario and Samus, and the game’s co-op mode means you won’t have to enjoy Woolly World’s charming visuals alone. Watanabe goes on to stress the game’s flexible difficulty curve, which will feature plenty of collectibles for purists, and an approachable level design for those who just want to see all the imaginative designs.

Get a load of some of the adorable creations to be found in Yoshi’s Woolly World by checking out the trailer above. The game will be available to North American Wii U owners on October 16th.
