Steve Austin’s appearance on the game’s cover was confirmed today, through a very short trailer that doesn’t exactly scream WWE 2K16. In it, a man (Stone Cold, of course) is seen digging in the desert, prior to unearthing a historic title belt from years gone by. It’s simple, to say the least, and is as short as possible.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with 2K to support the WWE 2K franchise, and now I’m absolutely honoured to serve as the WWE 2K16 cover Superstar,” stated Stone Cold. “No disrespect to the previous and extremely deserving WWE 2K cover Superstars – Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena – but it’s about time the franchise raised some hell with yours truly on the cover. I look forward to injecting a dose of ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ into this year’s game and overall campaign.”

Below, you’ll find the game’s newly-revealed cover art, which will be displayed in stores and online when WWE 2k16 releases on October 27th.
